Become a Candid Ambassador: Bring Catholic Speed Dating to Your City

From August to October this year, Candid ran in-person speed dating events in Dallas, Chicago, New York and Long Island. We picked those places based on where our users wanted us to come most. If you followed along and thought, I wish they'd come here, know that we'd love to, and we need your help to get there.

We're building a network of Candid Ambassadors: people who know the Catholic community in their city or on their campus and want to help bring in-person Catholic speed dating home. Here's what that looks like and how to raise your hand.

Why we're building an ambassador network

When we were on the road this fall, Manhattan sold out two weeks before the event, and Long Island was one of the first places to invite Candid to host.

We can't be in every city at once. The people who already know their local parishes, young adult groups and campus ministries are the ones who can help us find the right places and fill the room with Catholic singles who are ready to meet someone.

What a Candid Ambassador does

There are two ways to be an ambassador:

  • City or community ambassador. You represent your city, parish or young adult community.

  • College campus ambassador. You represent your college or university.

Either way, you can host a Candid event in your community, with our event format, resources and support behind you, or you can focus on spreading the word and inviting people.

Who we're looking for

You don't need to be an event planner. Here's what makes a great ambassador:

  • You're connected to Catholic life where you live, through a parish, young adult ministry, campus ministry or Catholic organization.

  • You know Catholic singles who'd come if you invited them, whether that's a handful of friends or a whole young adult group.

  • You know a good spot, like a local business, restaurant or venue that could host an evening of speed dating.

  • You want more good Catholic marriages in your community and you're willing to help make the first introduction.

How to apply

Here's how it works:

  1. Fill out the Bring Candid to Your City form. It asks about you, your community and the Catholic singles you could reach.

  2. Choose your path. Pick from one of two options: City / Community Ambassador, or College campus Ambassador and tell us your school.

  3. We look at interest by area. We'll reach out to the places where interest is strong.

Bring Candid to your city

Fill out the Bring Candid to Your City form to put your city or campus on our list. The more people who sign up from one area, the easier it is for us to bring an event there, so send it to a friend or two who'd want one too.

If you'll be at SEEK in Columbus this January, join us for in-person speed dating on January 4, 2027. And if you'd rather not wait for an in-person event, our virtual speed dating events run every month by age group and region. Download the Candid app to find one.
