Do I need to download an app?

You'll need the Candid app to browse events and book your spot — that part only happens there. Once you're booked, you can join the event itself either through the app or on the web at web.candiddating.net, whichever is easier for you that evening.

Every member creates a profile, and our team manually reviews it before approval. No shortcuts — that's how we keep the room real.

Is Candid safe?

Yes, every attendee is identity- and faith-reviewed before joining, events are camera-on so there's no catfishing, and your picks stay private unless they're mutual. A host is online for the whole event and you can leave a conversation at any time.

Can other people see who I picked?

No, your selections are completely private. The other person only ever learns you picked them if they picked you too — and only then does a chat open.

How long is a Candid event?

About 45-75 minutes. That's five seven-minute video conversations back to back, plus a few minutes to settle in at the start and mark your yes's at the end.

What happens if I arrive late?

Every seat matters here, so we ask everyone to check in on time. It's what keeps the room full and every conversation real. If you're running behind, check in as soon as you can — the window stays open for 4 minutes after the event starts. Miss it, and your spot goes to someone on the waitlist.

What happens when I match with someone?

When you and another attendee both indicate you'd like to match, Candid opens a private chat between you in the Matches tab. Results appear once all attendees have submitted their final feedback, so it may take a few minutes after the event ends. If only one person says yes, it's never revealed to either side — only mutual matches connect. From there, it's up to the two of you. We hope you meet in person.

What happens if I don't match with someone?

Not every event ends in a match, and that's okay. A real conversation is worth something on its own, even when it doesn't lead to a match. Matching depends on two people so it won't happen every time, and that's not a reflection of you. You're welcome to join another event whenever you're ready. Each one is a new room, new conversations, and a fresh shot at meeting someone special.

Which cities does Candid run events in?

Candid runs events in cities across the country, with our largest presence in Dallas-Fort Worth, New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Phoenix, Washington D.C., and Houston. We also hold regular statewide events in Florida, Ohio, California, and Texas, along with regional events across the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, and West. If your area doesn't have a scheduled event yet, our Nationwide events are open to everyone. Candid is currently available in the United States only but we are hoping to expand internationally soon.

How much does Candid cost?

A single event is $14.99, or $7.49 for your first one (automatically applied in the app). If you attend regularly, the $19.99/month subscription includes 2 events a month and comes out to about $10 per event. Prefer to pay upfront without a subscription? The 3-event pack covers a few sessions with no monthly commitment.

How does the first event discount work?

What's the difference between the subscription and the 3-event pack?

Candid+ ($19.99/month) renews monthly with 2 events included and access to Lumi, your AI matchmaker, for daily curated matches. The 3-event pack is a one-time purchase with no renewal, best if you want a few events without committing monthly.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes, subscriptions are managed through Apple or Google, so cancellation happens in your app store, not on our app. Your access continues through the end of your current billing period, and you can still buy individual events anytime after.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

You can cancel your spot from the Events tab in the app. Your event credit returns to your balance for a future event. If you book and don't show up, the credit is forfeited.

Do I need to live in a specific city?

No, alongside city, state and regional events, we run nationwide events open to every member. These are a good option if your area doesn't have one scheduled that month.

Why don't I see any events for my area?

Accepted Answer

Events are posted at the start and middle of each month. If your age group or location isn't scheduled yet, check the Nationwide events — they're open to everyone.
